A couple of rounds of severe weather today. This is from the NWS:

Quote :
Severe weather looks to be likely today over much of the CWA. This morning, storms are ongoing in central Minnesota from about Lake Mille Lacs to Alexandria and dropping to the ESE. These storms will likely be strong, but not quite severe. There may be additional development in Western Wisconsin this morning as well of about the same strength. Expect gusty winds to 40 or 50mph and hail to half or 3/4" from these storms.

Later this afternoon, new storms are expected to develop along an advancing cold front dropping into the region. The first storms will go up on a pre-frontal trough and will likely start in Northwest Wisconsin and fill in back to the WSW. These first storms could have all modes of severe weather including tornadoes (some strong), large hail, and damaging winds. The storms will likely fill in to the WSW across most if not all of the CWA. As we move into the evening and overnight, storms will become more elevated and the main threat will move to being large hail as the cold front undercuts the storms. These storms will then sweep to the ESE. Some training of storms is also possible leading to high precipitation totals.

Spotters in Central Minnesota and Western Wisconsin should closely monitor weather conditions this morning for possible activation.

This afternoon and evening, spotters in central Minnesota will likely be the first under the gun again as storms rapidly develop on the outflow from this mornings storms. As the evening moves on, storms will likely effect our Wisconsin counties, the Twin Cities, and Central and west-central Minnesota area and continue to the
East-Southeast.

This could be a busy and potentially long event.
