My name is Craig and 2008 will be my 10th year as a spotter. I first took a Skywarn class in 1999 in Cambridge. I can tell you the exact date that I became interested in tornadoes and thunderstorms--March 29, 1998. That is the date that tornadoes struck several communities in south central MN (St. Peter & Comfrey). Although my life wasn't affected by them, I was amazed--afterall, March used to be the snowiest month in MN, not the time of year for tornadoes.
I lived in North Branch for most of my life, and now I live in Cambridge. I have an Technician Class amateur radio licence and my former callsign was KC0MIM.
I consider myself more of a storm chaser than a spotter, but I do take part in Skywarn nets when storms are close to home. Other states I've chased in: CO, IA, KS, MO, ND, NE, SD, WI. I enjoy reading about weather and trying to learn about forecasting (that is an endless process).
I've started taking a lot more pictures over the past 2 years, and am learning more and more about photography.
